India’s active cases of Covid-19 declined for the first time in a week, at a time the country’s vaccination drive is picking up momentum.
Authorities detected nearly 15, 400 new cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on March 9. That’s lower than the 16,600 recoveries during the period, taking active cases marginally lower to 1.87 lakh.
Daily fatalities related to Covid-19, too, dropped to 77, the lowest in 10 months.
