A former South Lanarkshire College student has scooped first place at the final of the prestigious Wella Trendvision Awards UK and Ireland 2021.
Sharon Robertson McCurdy was a cut above in the ‘Colour the Cut’ category of the event which was held in London last week.
She completed a cut and creative colour live in front of the judging panel at the one-day event held at London’s iconic Roundhouse.

The stylist completed her HNC in hairdressing in June this year at the East Kilbride-based college.
The final which was co-hosted by Hairdressing icon, Patrick Cameron, and DJ and television presenter Fearne Cotton, featured shows from D&J Ambrose, ghd and James Earnshaw, HOB Salons Academy and Robert Eaton.
Sharon told Lanarkshire Live : “It was a fantastic occasion, I loved being part of it.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award and look forward to competing in further competitions in the very near future”
Sharon’s lecturer, Kirstie Crosbie, who accompanied her to the event, told us: “Sharon is amazingly talented and making it to the final was an achievement in itself.
“She was outstanding on the day, with many of the professionals commenting on the standard of work she produced.
“We are all so proud of her, both as a faculty and as a college.”
