‘Jackass Forever’ features cameo from Team Mexico softball pitcher Danielle O’Toole

Team Mexico softball pitcher and former University of Arizona All-American Danielle O’Toole came on in relief Saturday against Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics and kept her team close in a 2-0 loss to Cat Osterman and the United States.

She went pitch-for-pitch against Japanese legend Yukiko Ueno on Wednesday, giving up five hits and two runs in a complete game in her Olympic debut, before Mexico fell to the hosts 3-2 in extra innings.

Wait until you see what she does in a big-screen appearance.

O’Toole, a lefty known for her pinpoint accuracy, will make a cameo in “Jackass Forever,” which is scheduled to be released Oct. 22. The trailer dropped on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old O’Toole began her international career playing for the United States, and won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2018 world championships. She joined Team Mexico in 2019 after aces Osterman and Monica Abbott returned to pitch for the Americans.

On Saturday, she replaced Mexico starter Dallas Escobedo, a former Women’s College World Series champion at Arizona State, in the third inning with runners on first and second and no outs. After striking out Janie Reed and getting Amanda Chidester on an infield pop-up, O’Toole gave up a two-run single to Ali Aguilar.

After two Mexico errors put runners on second and third in the sixth, O’Toole got two outs before she was replaced by Sierra Hyland.

Osterman picked up her second win of the Olympics, giving up just one hit over six innings with four strikeouts. Abbott got the save for Team USA (3-0) by recording three strikeouts after the leadoff batter reached on an Aguilar error.

So far in the Olympics, O’Toole has pitched 11 innings and surrendered eight hits and two earned runs while striking out four for Mexico (0-3).
