Three killed in mass shooting as armed police called to ‘active gunman’ scene

Police said that officers had been called to the area of Everett Street after reports of a shooting. The incident was said to have been reported at about 4.30pm on Thursday

Three people are dead and another is fighting for their life in hospital after police rushed to the scene of a shooting in Tacoma, US.

Police said that officers had been called to the area of Everett Street after reports of a shooting. The incident was said to have been reported at about 4.30pm on Thursday.

Tacoma Police Department said in a statement that two females and one male had been confirmed dead at the scene.

Another male was transported to a local hospital with ‘life-threatening injuries.’

Officers said: “This is an active scene, please stay [out] of the area.”

Local media reported that officers were still searching for the suspect both on the ground and from the air.

Police asked the public to avoid the area while the investigation continued.

A description of the suspect, who has not yet been identified, has not been released by officers.
