With Halloween fast-approaching, parents across the country will be making sure their kids have the perfect costumes for the spooky day.

And it seems that the Duchess of Cambridge is no different after she was previously spotted popping into her local Sainsburys to stock up on Halloween outfits for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kate was seen at the supermarket on the Hardwick Industrial Estate, Norfolk, in 2019 and was overheard asking some of the children in the store what they were going to dress up as.

George and Charlotte were with their mum and followed her around as she did her shopping.

She later used the self-service checkouts, where she purchased her Halloween goods.

Mum-of-four Kathy Whittaker later spoke of her shock to see Kate browsing the supermarket clothes while a brawny six-foot bodyguard lingered close by.

Kathy explained: “Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn’t believe it.

“She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures.

“I managed to get the photo as she was at the self-service check out.

“You just don’t expect it to happen, you think Kate would shop in Waitrose or Harrods.”

However, it’s not the first time Kate has been spotted in a Sainsbury’s.

She was also seen browsing the clothing section of the supermarket’s King’s Lynn branch, which isn’t far from the family’s countryside home Anmer Hall, in 2020.

While in 2018, she was spotted perusing the aisles of discount store The Range in King’s Lynn.

Teacher Sarah Daniels told how she saw Kate with George and Charlotte in the arts and craft aisle before they moved on to the toy section, where George apparently showed interest in ‘dinosaur slime’.

Mrs Daniels told the Daily Mail that at one point Charlotte sat on the floor and was told by her mother, dressed casually in jeans, low-heeled boots and a jacket: “Get up, poppet.”

And when George asked about the slime, she claims she “didn’t register a response” from the prince’s mother. Maybe slime wasn’t within their budget?
