Inside Strictly frontrunner Rose Ayling-Ellis’s low-key relationship

EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis and Italian pro partner Giovanni Pernice have been taking the Strictly ballroom by storm so far this series with several leaderboard-topping routines.

From an emotional Titanic-themed Foxtrot in movie week to last week’s lively Cha Cha, fans have been loving Rose and Giovanni’s incredible chemistry.

Reports suggest that it was the pair’s “amazing bond” that caused Giovanni and Maura Higgins’ split, with the ITV2 Love Island growing jealous of their closeness.

Who is Rose Ayling-Ellis?

Rose Ayling-Ellis is an actress best known for playing Frankie Lewis — Mick Carter’s daughter — on BBC soap opera EastEnders.

The 26-year-old British Sign Language user became the long-running soap’s first deaf character when she joined the EastEnders cast back in May 2020.

Outside of EastEnders, Rose has also starred in series including Casualty, The Quiet Ones and Summer of Rockets, where she starred opposite Keely Hawes and Timothy Spall.

Speaking to BBC ahead of Strictly Come Dancing series 19, Rose said: “I hope I will do the deaf community proud and break down more barriers.

“But I am also very excited to learn an incredible new skill and even better I get to learn whilst wearing beautiful dresses made especially for me.”

Who is Rose Ayling-Ellis’ boyfriend?

Rose Ayling-Ellis has been dating Samuel Arnold for seven years.

Despite Rose’s high-profile job, the pair tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, sharing the occasional update on Instagram.

Posts dating back to 2014 show Rose and boyfriend Sam, who is also deaf, embarking on several adventures together, from climbing mountains and sailing down the Amazon river to attending festivals and exploring vast sand dunes.
